Are debt collectors:

  • Calling you or others continually?
  • Harassing, threatening, or lying?
  • Being otherwise unfair or abusive?

You could be entitled to money for the damages you've suffered if your debt collector is violating fair debt collection laws. YOU HAVE RIGHTS, don't be intimidated!

Do you think your fair debt rights are being violated by an abusive debt collector?

State and federal fair debt laws prevent debt collectors from using harassing, misleading, dishonest or unfair debt collection practices. These laws provide that victims of debt collector abuse can recover cash compensation from the collectors, and require the collectors to pay all your legal fees.

Would you like to learn more about how to sue a creditor or debt collector that has violated your fair debt rights at no cost to you?

They're terrible
By: Jacqueline Nelson
They cannot get their accounting straight, forcing me to submit bank records to get them back on track, otherwise my vehicle gets booted because they can't get their stuff together. Additionally, they sent our their original notice late, I guess thinking I can pull money out of a hat and pay them. They're the worst I've ever dealt with.

RED LIGHT VIOLATION, entered on NOVEMBER 21, 2010 I was issued the traffic violation Notice 5131502160. 1. That after checking my options on www.cityofchicago.org I intended to set up Hardship Payment Plan and pay $100.00, without contesting it on a basis of well known and documented facts of unfair setup of the ?ity traffic signals in Court, and/or accepting guilt. 2. That my position of low income, age 62, being a recipient of public support fully qualifies me for such Plan as it is described. 3. That I made a phone call from phone number 815-349-8869 to advice City of Chicago about my intention and was advised to fax supporting information, which I did December 16th , 2010. 4. That I was told to call the Law Office of Arnold Scott Harris, P. C. (312-604-7100) to set up the payment plan after they receive my faxed information. 5. That I called them December 20th at 12:37 and at 12:43 pm . 6. That I spoke to Vicky Morrison and Carol Yakel, who stated that she was the Manager. 7. That I was advised that the conversation might be recorded. 8. That they both confirmed that I was qualified for Hardship Payment Plan. Page 1 of 2 9. That they both, while acting on behalf of City of Chicago refused to setup the payment plan and to accept 25% as deposit. 10. That they cited the reason that they could not remove me from the boot list, if I just paid one ticket. 11. That Carol Yakel said, that the payment plan was a “privilege” 12. That I never asked to be removed from boot or any other list. I only asked to setup hardship payment plan for one specific ticket. 13. That there are no published set rules which would attach any conditions to a Hardship Payment Plan, except age and economic qualification. 14. I was mislead and I feel that despite advertised goal, Hardship Payment Plan has been used by the Law Office of Arnold Scott Harris, P. C.,as the agent for City of Chicago for extortion of money from public, including people in need.
