Are debt collectors:

  • Calling you or others continually?
  • Harassing, threatening, or lying?
  • Being otherwise unfair or abusive?

You could be entitled to money for the damages you've suffered if your debt collector is violating fair debt collection laws. YOU HAVE RIGHTS, don't be intimidated!

Do you think your fair debt rights are being violated by an abusive debt collector?

State and federal fair debt laws prevent debt collectors from using harassing, misleading, dishonest or unfair debt collection practices. These laws provide that victims of debt collector abuse can recover cash compensation from the collectors, and require the collectors to pay all your legal fees.

Would you like to learn more about how to sue a creditor or debt collector that has violated your fair debt rights at no cost to you?

Specialized Loan Servicing bought a mortgage loan from Capital One/Chevy Chase Banks effective March 1,2010. The loan was made by my spouse, Ceaser Ed Joseph. I did not sign on the loan. Therefore Chevy Chase and Capital One would never speak to me when I'd say my spouse is not competent enough to handle his business. He is also terminally ill. SLS bought the loan and continued to call and ask to speak to my ill husband. They quickly rushed to obtain a Trustee Sale date. The sale date was posted on my door Wednesday, March 31,2010 and mailed certified, signature required Thursday, April 1,2010. The Trustee Sale set for Tuesday, April 20,2010. Since the first was Good Friday and Easter week most legal help was on Spring break or vacation. I thought this would kill my terminally ill spouse. His blood pressure rose over 200. That is very unusual for him. He's been seriously ill for about two years though. He was in ICU at USC's Norris Cancer Hospital last August 2009 when I explained the problem to Naomi at Capital. She said she could not discuss Ceaser's business with me because I was not on the loan. She explained my being a co-owner of the property meant nothing. Chevy Chase Bank felt the same way! They made my goddaughter and I get written permission from my husband to submit a request for a loan modification. It was denied January 2009.Since the lenders would not talk to me, my husband and I hired a mortgage broker summer 2009 to handle the property business. I literally lived at the hospital with my husband August 14,2009 to September 30,2009. During the first week of September he ended up on life support and back in ICU. The only time I had a break was when he was in ICU and when they realized he needed a sitter at all times and provided him with one towards the end of his stay. During that time a default was filed with both our names. Why am I on the bogus document? I'm not on the loan! The loan was a predatory loan with high points, and interest rates. All closing cost fees were ridiculously high for only changing paper with no cash out. The loan iniator. AmeriFirst bombarded my elderly spouse with calls until every penny of his equity was gone. They always promised my husband something better! Now I'm on the papers for the Trustee Sale!
